ATI OverDrive™ Support for Linux
ATI OverDrive™ maximizes the performance of the graphic processing unit (GPU) on your graphics card. This provides the ability to improve the performance of your GPU, especially if you are using a custom cooling solution.
Caution: Using ATI Overdrive™ to increase the graphics processor or memory clocks above normal limits may result in graphics corruption, data loss or system hangs. If ATI Overdrive™ detects unsafe conditions, it will automatically reduce the clocks. However, ATI cannot guarantee results, and will not be responsible for data loss or other problems that may occur as a result of using ATI Overdrive™.

Auto Detection and installation of distribution packaging
With version 2.0 of the AMD Graphics Driver distribution packaging Application Programming Interface (API), each Linux distribution will have the option of updating their packaging scripts to provide auto detection and installation of the AMD graphics driver.
Version 2.0 of the API installation option will automatically generate and install a distribution-specific package using the distribution's package management system, it automatically check for build and install dependencies when generating and installing distribution-specific packages.
Note: This is achieved in supported distributions by using the following command: aticonfig --buildandinstallpkg
Version 2.0 enhancements include the following:
* Automatic OS detection. Users will be able to generate and install distribution-specific packages without having to provide system-specific information * Dryrun option. Users will have the ability to request a test run of the installer to ensure that all dependencies are met
Tip: Dryrun can be added after either --buildpkg or --buildandinstallpkg to simulate those actions.
Currently only RedHat, Slackware and Ubuntu support these enhanced options. As more distribution packaging scripts implement the AMD Graphics Driver distribution packaging API version 2.0 this list will grow.

Das Freeware-Tool SpeedFan ist in einer neuen Version 4.35 erschienen. SpeedFan ermöglicht die Überwachung diverser System-Parameter wie Lüfterdrehzahlen, Temperaturen, Spannungen oder auch das Auslesen von S.M.A.R.T. Informationen. Seit dem Hyperion Pro 5.12A beinhaltet das Treiberpaket den neuen IDE Falcon Storage Treiber, der zuvor als "VIA IDE Accelerator Driver" bekannt war und nun mit dem früher einzeln erhältlichen "VIA PATA/SATA IDE Driver Package" verschmolzen wurde.

Das AMD OverDrive Tool (AOD) ist in der Version 2.1.2 erschienen. Nach einer überraschend kurzen Entwicklungszeit von nur 5 Wochen wurde heute die Version 0.3.6 des freien Betriebssystems ReactOS veröffentlicht.
ReactOS ist der Versuch, ein Betriebssystem zu entwickeln, das kompatibel zu Microsoft Windows ist, sodass sich Windows-Treiber und -Programme verwenden lassen. Einige Windows-Programme funktionieren auch bereits, z. B. Mozilla Firefox 2.0 und OpenOffice.org 2.0.
Das Changelog ist wie immer sehr umfangreich. Zu den wichtigsten Änderungen sind sicherlich jene am Heap der Laufzeitumgebung (RTL) zu zählen, durch die sich mehr Windows-Programme nutzen lassen als bei den vorherigen Versionen. Neben der normalen Weiterentwicklung werden derzeit große Anstrengungen unternommen, ReactOS auf die ARM-Architektur, welche vor allem in portablen Geräten wie Mobiltelefonen zum Einsatz kommt, zu portieren.

Is Windows Vista supported?
Yes, but there are currently a few known issues that the development team are working on. DirectSound hardware acceleration no longer exists on Vista (resulting in broken support for 5.1/7.1 speakers); Skinned scrollbars may not be displayed correctly; Video playback may be a bit flaky (most likely related to old/buggy video drivers or directshow codecs) or doesn't work at all with Aero enabled; and DWM/Flip3D displays the built-in Classic skin for all Modern skins. We hope to resolve most if not all of these issues in forthcoming Winamp releases.
