Although the update was unexpected, chipset design houses VIA Technologies and Silicon Integrated Systems (SiS) both said that it would not affect their product roadmaps, as they had already made their new AMD-based chipsets compliant with FSB 333MHz speeds.
According to VIA, its latest KT400 discrete chipset is able to support an FSB speed of up to 333MHz, so it will not encounter any compatibility problems with AMD’s future Athlon XP processors. SiS noted that its new SiS746 and SiS746DX are also designed to be able to support FSB 333MHz speeds. The company added that shipments of the SiS746 chipsets would start shortly."
Demnach sollte die Angelegenheit kein Problem darstellen.
